N'oublie Jamais

Be strong in the Lord and never give up hope. You're gonna do great things, I already know. God's got His hand on you, so don't live life in fear. Forgive and forget, but don't forget why you're here-Sidewalk Prophets "The Words I Would Say"

Nothing is worse than a bad day...you know those days when you just don't want to get out of bed? The ones where you're just not sure if that day is worth living through? We all have them, some of us more frequently than others, but nonetheless we have all been attacked by them. Numerous things and situations can cause us to feel this way, but they all have one thing in common, they are sent from the devil to beat us down. It is his highest goal that we would stay in bed all day and never thank God, do something productive, or even see the light of day. So where do we find the strength to get out of bed everyday and to carry on in our day to day lives? Joshua 1:9 says, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord you God will be with you wherever you go." We find our strength in the God. This verse as well as the lyrics above remind us that God is our backbone, and He is our strength everyday no matter how good or bad that day is. We are precious to God and, in Him, we have eternal safety and hope. We should never fear the future because we know that God is right there beside us, and He keeps safe watch over His children.

The last part of these lyrics say, "Forgive and forget, but don't forget why you're here." I always find this to be a good reminder that we can find peace, hope, and joy in God, but that our purpose in life is so much more than rainbows and butterflies. We are here to serve the Lord by being a light in a world full of darkness. It is great to have a strong personal relationship with Jesus, but why keep it to yourself? Forgive people and forget the wrongs that they have committed against you, but when you do this, do not forget to tell them why you are showing such love. We love because God first loved us. Our purposes on this earth are to #1-love and serve God and #2 love and serve people. The greatest way we can love people is to tell them about the loving acts of our God.

So I challenge you, find your hope and strength in the God and then remind yourself everyday why you are here on earth and live out that purpose.
